AMEC AMTEX is the textile sector machinery platform that assesses companies and offers them support services in their internationalisation activities. Characterised by the small size of the companies of which it is made up, the textile machinery and dressmaking sector is notable for the companies’ specialisation and ability to adapt to manufacture tailor-made machines for their clients.
The companies continue to make great efforts to open up new markets and to create loyalty in existing ones, adapting the equipment to the demands of their clients, which requires ongoing innovation.
The exterior promotion of Spanish companies is aimed at where there is textile production and, therefore, a demand for equipment. In 2015, a 10% growth in exports was registered, and imports have doubled, showing the reactivation of the national economy.
The Spanish companies in the sector, distinguished for their high technological level and the good value for money they offer, continue competing at a worldwide level, occupying positions of leadership in their specialities.
Within the sector, AMEC AMTEX is the Spanish Association that brings together manufacturers of textile and dressmaking machinery and other manufacturers that are part of the textile value chain. It is found in the main worldwide trade fairs in the sector: ITMA and ITMA ASIA+CITME, and is part of the organisation of these events, CEMATEX, with the other European associations of textile machinery manufacturers. The work carried out by AMEC AMTEX in collaboration with Fira de Barcelona to hold the return of the ITMA in Barcelona at the forthcoming 2019 edition is worthy of a mention.
The Association holds the secretaryship of AENOR’s Technical Standardisation Committee for Textile Machinery and has a close relationship with universities and technological centres to offer innovative, quality products.
